Most likely the drive gear has stripped, the trolley carriage has disconnected from the rail after the emergency release cord was pulled, or the chain or belt has snapped. The door stopped mid-cycle and will not respond to the remote or wall button. What do I do?
Do not force the door by hand if a spring or cable may also be under tension. Disconnect the opener by pulling the red emergency release cord. If the door is stuck partway, leave it in place and call us. Mid-cycle jams are often a photo-eye sensor obstruction, a travel limit drift, or a force setting shift after a storm. We diagnose and correct the setting on site. The door will not be left in an unsecured position before we leave.
There was a thunderstorm and now the opener is completely dead. Can a power surge damage the circuit board?
