HOW EMERGENCY LOCK INSTALLATION WORKS
-
Call or Request Online
We answer within 30 seconds, day or night. Describe the situation so we dispatch the right lock inventory.
-
Technician Dispatched
Your nearest licensed technician is routed immediately with 20-plus lock types on board. Median Central Austin arrival: 14 minutes.
-
On-Site Assessment
We examine the door, frame, and existing hardware. If the frame needs reinforcing before the new lock mounts securely, we handle that first.
-
Lock Installed and Tested
New lock fitted, deadbolt aligned, and strike plate secured with 3-inch screws into the framing. Two keys cut and tested from both sides.
WHEN REKEYING IS NOT ENOUGH
After a Break-In, a New Lock Is the Right Call
Rekeying changes the key that operates a lock. It does not fix a cylinder that has been picked, a deadbolt that has been torqued, or a latch face that was pried. After a break-in, internal lock damage is common and not always visible. A technician who arrives at your Hyde Park bungalow or Mueller townhome and finds intact housings but stripped pins will recommend replacement on the spot.
Our service vehicles carry Kwikset, Schlage, Yale, and Baldwin stock in standard residential and ANSI Grade 1 commercial grades. Hill Country humidity accelerates pin corrosion in older Austin homes; we factor that into lock selection. We also carry 3-inch screws, security-grade strike plates, and door-frame reinforcement hardware. The full installation price, including hardware, is quoted before any work begins.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does emergency lock installation take?
Most residential deadbolt installations take 20 to 45 minutes on site. From your call to completed installation, plan on 60 to 90 minutes total: roughly 14 minutes median response in Central Austin, then 30 to 45 minutes per lock to install. Multiple locks or damaged door frames add time.
Do you bring locks, or do I need to buy them first?
We bring locks. Our service vehicles carry 20-plus lock types from Kwikset, Schlage, Yale, and Baldwin in various finishes and security grades. We show you options on site, you pick what fits your needs and budget, and we install immediately. Lock hardware is included in the installation price.
Can you install locks after a break-in if my door frame is damaged?
Yes. Break-ins often damage door frames, strike plates, and door edges. We assess what needs reinforcing when we arrive, make the repairs needed for a secure lock mount, then install new locks. If the damage requires a full door replacement, we can fit a temporary security solution and refer you to a door specialist.
Is emergency lock installation more expensive at night or on weekends?
No. Our rates are the same 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. A deadbolt installation costs the same at midnight as it does at noon. Security emergencies happen on their own schedule.
Can you key all my new locks alike during the same visit?
Yes. When installing multiple locks we key them alike so one key operates all of them. For commercial installations we can also set up a master-key hierarchy. Tell us when you call so we prepare the right cylinders before dispatch.
Is your technician licensed to work in Texas?
Yes. Texas DPS Locksmith License License #B19847. Every technician dispatched is employed by and insured through Pros On Call. We carry that license on every job and will show it on request.
Do you serve Round Rock, Cedar Park, and other Austin suburbs?
Yes. From our Central Austin dispatch we cover Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Leander, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, and 36 Texas markets in total. Drive time on I-35 and MoPac is factored into our dispatch routing. Call us and we confirm your area immediately.
