WHAT WE INSTALL

  • Replacement Doors

Replacing a 15-year-old door with damaged panels, corroded hardware, or a spring system past its cycle count. Full removal and disposal included.

  • New Construction

Full door installation on new builds coordinated with your contractor. We confirm rough-in dimensions, header heights, and backroom clearance before ordering.

  • Insulation Upgrade

Upgrading from a non-insulated single-layer to R-12 or R-18 polyurethane. Hill Country summers push uninsulated garages past 140 degrees. The upgrade pays for itself in AC savings.

  • Aesthetic Upgrades

Moving from a plain raised-panel to aluminum full-view, carriage-style composite, or a wood-look finish. The garage door is 30 to 40 percent of a home's front face.

WHY TEXAS CLIMATE CHANGES THE CALCULATION

The Door That Works in Minnesota Does Not Work the Same Way in Austin

Texas garage doors face conditions most of the country does not. Central Texas summer heat pushes interior temps past 130 degrees in an uninsulated two-car garage. Coastal humidity from Galveston to Corpus Christi accelerates steel corrosion and causes wood panels to swell and bind within two seasons. A storm on the Houston Ship Channel side or a spring squall in the Hill Country puts lateral load on panels that standard residential doors are not rated for.

Steel insulated panels with polyurethane fill are the practical standard for attached garages in Austin, Round Rock, and Cedar Park. Full-view aluminum with thermal-break frames is the right call for modern homes in Travis Heights and Mueller where curb appeal matters as much as function. Carriage-style composite offers the visual warmth of wood in Clarksville and Hyde Park without the maintenance cycle that actual cedar demands in humid summers. We stock and install all three regularly and can walk you through tradeoffs on site with samples.

  • Steel insulated panels in R-12, R-16, and R-18 polyurethane
  • Hurricane-rated doors available for coastal Texas wind zones
  • Full-view aluminum with thermal-break frames for modern builds
  • Old door, hardware, and debris hauled away at no extra charge

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Replaced our 17-year-old door with an insulated steel panel. The technician measured everything, explained the R-value options without pushing the most expensive one, and finished in about 4 hours. Garage is noticeably cooler already. Good price, clean work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does a full garage door installation take?

Most single-car residential installations are completed in 3 to 4 hours. Double-car openings with new tracks and a new opener typically run 4 to 6 hours. Custom-size doors, wood composite with decorative hardware, or hurricane-braced installs add time. We schedule a full day for new construction rough-ins so framing and track alignment are not rushed.

How much does a new garage door cost, installed?

A standard single-car steel insulated door with a new opener runs $1,200 to $1,900 installed. Double-car steel insulated doors land between $1,600 and $2,800. Aluminum full-view doors with glass panels average $2,200 to $4,000. Carriage-style wood-look composite typically costs $1,800 to $3,200. Hurricane-rated doors add $300 to $600 to any base price. All pricing includes door panels, hardware, new springs, tracks, and installation labor. Old door removal and disposal are included.

Do you install hurricane-rated garage doors?

Yes. Texas coastal and near-coastal homeowners from Corpus Christi to Galveston and into the Houston metro can order wind-load rated doors that meet Florida Building Code or FHCA standards. Ratings from 90 to 160 mph are available in steel and aluminum. We assess your opening, confirm header reinforcement requirements, and order to your wind-zone spec.

What R-value insulation do I need for a Texas garage?

For an attached garage in Central Texas, R-12 to R-16 is the practical sweet spot. R-6 to R-9 polystyrene backer is adequate for a detached garage in a mild climate. R-16 to R-18 polyurethane injection foam is worth the premium if you run a workshop, park a car you care about, or have a bedroom above the garage. Hill Country heat in July can push an uninsulated garage above 140 degrees; a properly insulated door drops that by 20 to 30 degrees.

Can I replace just the panels, or does the full door need to come out?

Panel replacement is possible when the tracks, springs, and hardware are in good condition and the replacement panels are still manufactured for your door model. If the door is more than 12 to 15 years old, finding matching panels is difficult and the springs likely need replacement anyway. We assess on site. If full replacement costs less than 60 percent more than a panel repair over a five-year horizon, we recommend it.

Do you install smart garage door openers at the same time?

Yes. We carry LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers with myQ smart connectivity and battery backup. Installation is included in the door package quote or added as a line item if you already have a working opener you want to keep. We configure Wi-Fi pairing, app access, and auto-close timing before we leave.

Is your garage door installation licensed in Texas?

Yes. Texas DPS Locksmith and Garage Door License License #B19847. Every technician dispatched is employed by and insured through Pros On Call. We operate across 36 Texas markets and carry that license on every job.

Do you serve Round Rock, Pflugerville, and other Austin suburbs for garage door installation?

Yes. From our Central Austin dispatch we serve Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Leander, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos, and 36 Texas markets total. Drive time on I-35, MoPac, and 183 is factored into our scheduling. Most suburban appointments are available within 48 hours. Call and we confirm your area and the next available window.
