Frame Assessment
We inspect the existing frame for rot, settling damage, and plumb before ordering any material. Frame condition determines whether a slab or full pre-hung unit is the right call.

Old Door Removal
Existing slab, hinges, trim, and hardware are removed carefully. The rough opening is cleaned and prepped. Old door is set aside for disposal or kept at your request.

Installation and Weathersealing
Pre-hung unit is shimmed into the opening, secured with long screws into structural framing, and fitted with lockset, deadbolt, and compression weatherstripping on all four sides.

Final Inspection
Door is operated ten times. We check for light gaps at the threshold, test lock and deadbolt function, and walk you through hardware operation before cleanup.
REPLACEMENT VS. INSTALLATION
Removing the Old Door Changes the Job
Installing a door where none existed before is a clean start. Replacement is a different job. The old slab, hinges, trim, and hardware come out first. Then the frame gets a real inspection, because what looked like a minor gap is often the first sign of rot at the sill or settling in a foundation that has moved over fifteen Austin summers.
We assess the frame before ordering anything. When the jamb is plumb, square, and solid, a pre-hung unit drops in cleanly. When there is rot at the threshold or the rough opening has shifted, we address that before the new door goes in. A door fitted to a compromised frame will bind, draft, and fail early. We do not let that happen.

It sucks they charge an inconvenience fee of 49.00. Which I wish you would have mentioned this on our intial call. Transparency would have been to say hey we charge an inconvenience fee. Never once was this mentioned. When we spoke with the representative all she said was the locksmith will call you with a price. Never once did she say we take your payment info so we can charge you an inconvenience fee. If that was mentioned then this would have been handled differently. She made it seem like we need a card on file to help. Then they attempted to debit my card twice for two separate transactions for 49.00. I understand you run a business. But transparency is key. I specifically asked her what I would be charged for never once did she mention this. Lesson learned. Update***she reached out in regards to my Google review. Although I attempted to resolve per phone call. Shameless.

I have been a customer of pros on call for like over 2 years about and have had to call on them about 6 times. I had Zach come out to the property that I purchased out in Luling, Texas. It’s about 10 acres, and it has a garage with a corroded lock. Out of all the companies I have called, which is roughly 5 to 6. He was able to take my call, head out the next day, and take care of the corroded lock I need fixed on my property. A pre-hung unit is the door slab factory-fitted to a new jamb, threshold, and weatherstripping as a single assembly. It ships with factory-set gaps and hinge alignment, which means better weatherproofing and a manufacturer warranty that slab-only swaps do not carry. Slab-only installation saves $200-$400 but makes sense only when the existing frame is plumb, square, and free of rot, conditions we verify on-site.
How long does a door replacement take?
