We do not build custom wrought iron panels in-house, and we will never tell you otherwise. Searches for custom iron gate fabrication often land on this page, but fabrication is not a service we offer.
If you are planning a new custom gate, the honest sequence is two steps. A fabricator builds and hangs the panel to your specification. We handle the second step: sizing and installing a heavy-duty operator, wiring the entrapment-protection sensors UL 325 requires, and keeping the system serviced for as long as you own the property. We coordinate directly with your fabricator's install schedule, and we are glad to recommend one if you do not already have a relationship. Fabrication and automation are different trades, and we would rather say so plainly than overreach.

It sucks they charge an inconvenience fee of 49.00. Which I wish you would have mentioned this on our intial call. Transparency would have been to say hey we charge an inconvenience fee. Never once was this mentioned. When we spoke with the representative all she said was the locksmith will call you with a price. Never once did she say we take your payment info so we can charge you an inconvenience fee. If that was mentioned then this would have been handled differently. She made it seem like we need a card on file to help. Then they attempted to debit my card twice for two separate transactions for 49.00. I understand you run a business. But transparency is key. I specifically asked her what I would be charged for never once did she mention this. Lesson learned. Update***she reached out in regards to my Google review. Although I attempted to resolve per phone call. Shameless.

I have been a customer of pros on call for like over 2 years about and have had to call on them about 6 times. I had used several other locksmith in the prior 15 years but once Roland , one of many these pros came over I never use sny other locksmith service. I am very happy with this company I usually asks for Roland because I know him best and I have developed a kinda professional friendship with him but you can't lose no matter who it is that helps you. I had Zach come out to the property that I purchased out in Luling, Texas. It’s about 10 acres, and it has a garage with a corroded lock. Out of all the companies I have called, which is roughly 5 to 6. He was able to take my call, head out the next day, and take care of the corroded lock I need fixed on my property. He was extremely professional and helped me by giving me instructions on how to operate the lock as well! How long do gate openers last?
Residential gate operators typically last 10 to 15 years, but that figure moves with cycle count and correct sizing. A well-maintained, professional-grade operator sized correctly for a heavy estate panel can exceed 20 years of service. An estate gate cycling a handful of times a day ages very differently from an undersized operator straining against a heavy iron panel every time it opens, which is why sizing matters more here than it does on a light residential gate.
Should I repair or replace my gate opener?
Replace when a single repair would run roughly half or more of the cost of a new installed operator, when the unit is past 10 years old, when parts are discontinued, or after repeated board or motor failures. Repair when it is one failed component on an otherwise sound, correctly sized operator. On an estate-weight gate the stakes are higher: replacing an aging unit is also the moment to upgrade to a properly rated heavy-duty operator and bring the system current on the monitored entrapment-protection requirements UL 325 sets, rather than repairing a unit that was undersized for the panel from the start.

Tell us that when you call and we flag it for priority scheduling. We cannot promise a specific arrival window before we know your location and the technician queue, but same-day service is common for a functional failure like a dead operator or a gate stuck open. High-value properties with guests, deliveries, or event access on a deadline get prioritized at intake, not after the fact.
Do you need a special license to fabricate custom wrought iron gates in Texas?
No. Texas has no state license for fence, gate, or ornamental ironwork fabrication, and no general contractor license either; state licensing only attaches to the electrical and security layers of the work. That said, Pros On Call does not fabricate custom gates regardless of licensing. We service, repair, and automate a fabricator's finished gate.
