HOW IT WORKS
From Consultation to Working Credential in Four Steps
-
CALL OR REQUEST ONLINE
Describe the property type, door count, and credential preference. We answer within two rings during business hours. After-hours calls route directly to dispatch.
-
SITE ASSESSMENT AND QUOTE
A licensed technician walks the space, checks door frame conditions, power availability, and wiring runs, then provides a written quote before any work begins. No surprise charges.
-
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Readers, strikes, panels, and cabling installed to manufacturer spec. Existing door frames are measured before drilling. Work is photographed before and after for your records.
-
PROGRAMMING AND HANDOFF
Each credential programmed and tested on site. Staff or household members enrolled before we leave. You receive admin credentials and written documentation of the system configuration.
COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL
One Team for Both Sides of the Door
Most access control installers work one side of the market. We work both. A Mueller homeowner with a short-term rental needs a smart lock with rotation codes and remote management. A Domain office building needs a multi-door HID card system tied to an alarm panel. Different hardware, different code base, same licensed crew.
Texas DPS Locksmith License #B19847 covers both residential and commercial work statewide. Bonded and insured. Family-owned since 2010. We carry parts for the major commercial manufacturers on the van, so most repair calls are resolved same day rather than waiting on a parts order.
- Single-door to multi-site enterprise deployments
- Parts for Schlage, HID, DoorKing, and Alarm Lock on-van
- Written quote before any work. No change-order surprises.
- Median Central Texas response: approximately 14 minutes
CUSTOMER REVIEW
What Austin Clients Say
"Installed a four-door card-reader system in our East Austin office. The tech measured every frame before drilling, ran the cabling clean, and had all four doors programmed and tested before 3 p.m. Admin portal walked through in detail. No issues six months later."
COMMON QUESTIONS
Access Control FAQs
-
We install keypad entry systems, RFID card readers, biometric fingerprint and facial-recognition scanners, smart locks with remote access, magnetic locks, electric strikes, and video intercom systems. Residential and commercial properties across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, and 36 Texas markets.
-
Single-door keypad systems typically run $250 to $600 installed. Card-reader systems for a commercial entry start around $800 to $1,500 per door depending on hardware grade. Biometric and multi-site systems are quoted after a site walk. We provide a written quote before any work begins. License #B19847.
-
Yes. Most commercial-grade card-reader and keypad systems we carry support integration with alarm panels, cameras, and building management systems. We assess your current setup during the consultation and specify compatible hardware before installation.
-
We service most major brands including Schlage, Yale, Alarm Lock, DoorKing, Kaba, HID, and Honeywell. Call (888) 601-6005 with the brand and model and we confirm compatibility before scheduling.
-
A common setup combines an electrified mortise lockset with both mechanical key override and electronic credential access. The mechanical side stays on the existing master key hierarchy. The electronic side connects to the access control system. This is standard for multi-tenant buildings where the property manager needs card access at the building entry and key access at individual suites.
-
In most cases yes. We use electrified strike plates, magnetic locks, and electrified mortise cylinders that retrofit into existing door preps. The hardware selection depends on door material, fire rating, and whether the door is normally-open or normally-closed.
-
A single-door keypad system starts around $400 installed. A card reader system (one reader, one controller, power supply) typically runs $800 to $1,500. Cloud-managed systems with remote credential management start around $1,200 per door. Multi-door systems scale from there. We provide written quotes before any work begins.
-
Keypad systems use PIN codes and require no physical credential. They are lower cost and easier to manage for small teams. Card reader systems use RFID cards or key fobs that are issued to each user. Cards are harder to share, produce per-user entry logs, and can be instantly deactivated without changing any hardware. For businesses with more than five employees we generally recommend card readers.
